Issac Strong

Being a nurse is a blessing. 

There are times when I share in the joy of life with patient's. I hold their hands as they hear good news, get a clean bill of health and are able to go on with life as they wish. There is also times of sorrow, grief and fear. Through being a nurse I've learned a few things I fear the greatest of which is cancer. I've seen cancer take lives far too young, I've lost a grandparent to cancer. I've seen the evilness of cancer consume every moment of a person life. Cancer is evil, scary and cruel. 

Yesterday while reading Erin's blog I learned that there's a little six year old boy, Isaac fighting for his life due to brain and spine cancer. I began reading his parent's online journal and my heart just broke for this little boy and his family. This little boy should be running, playing and learning like most six year olds do. Instead he's receiving treatments, spending his days in the hospital and talking about death and dying. A six year old preparing for heaven? 

Heartbreaking.

No child should ever have to talk about death, dying and heaven with their parents. A six year old's life should be innocent, young and full of joy and fun. I'd love to help Issac and his family and would love it if you all could too. Below is a donation widget. The money raised will be used in three different ways:

doorstep to be sure they are getting warm, healthy meals 

without having to worry about it themselves

While we're warm, cozy and healthy lil' Isaac is not so lucky. 
Him and his family are surely facing the toughest time in their lives and the days ahead are sure to be equally as hard and heartbreaking for them.
