I spent Thanksgiving week being incredibly thankful for each and every blessing in my life. Now, the week after Thanksgiving it seems that everyone is facing trying times. There are those struggling with self esteem issues. Those trying and unable to conceive a child. Those who's debts greatly outweigh their income. While all of these things are tough, saddening and downright frustrating there are also others out in the world hurting from so much more. Maybe it's news that they will likely die before Christmas, maybe it's a hurricane destroying their home, or maybe it's new that their child's cancer is back. And this time the cancer is giving up. We all have our upsets, hard times and grief. And my heart hurts for each of you. My prayers go out to you. I found this poem and thought that after this past week it'd be a perfect one to share:
If your arteries have hardened
And arthritis slows your gait,
If your tired blood is stubborn,
Not inclined to circulate;
If your dancing days are over
And you cannot do the twist,
If your time is spent in brooding
O'er the many things you've missed.
If you're constantly complaining
On your rocker or your couch;
If you're ornery and cranky
And becoming quite a grouch;
Well, if this is your condition
And you get no sympathy,
Then it's time you started trying
A new kind of therapy.
Though you have your share of trouble,
Think of others with more pain,
Like the fellow in his wheelchair,
Who will never walk again.
Take time to write a letter.
And while pen is in your palm,
Thank the good Lord up above you,
For the use of that right arm.
Try relaxing in the sunshine,
Note each flower, bird and tree,
Then appreciate your eyesight;
There are many who can't see.
When you tune in television
And each sound is loud and clear,
Just think of those who'd give a lot,
If only they could hear.
Yes, I've practiced what I'm preaching,
And I've learned there's joy to reap;
If you stop and count your blessings
And just "think before you weep".

Dear Life: I am incredibly, fully and 110% thankful for you! I've been blessed beyond words and my wildest imagination! Though there are times in life that have been rough I have a wonderful family, a fantastic husband, a warm home, a stocked fridge and love to spare. There are others out there tonight whom aren't quite as lucky and I wish that I could give up some of what I have. Dear Health: Though my back is pained with scoliosis and there are days I can hardly walk I am beyond thankful that I can live my life as I please. I am able to go where I want to go. I am able to see what I want to see. I am able to accomplish the dreams and goals I have set in front of me. Dear Home: Though I whine and complain often about the state of your destruction I am so thankful that I have somewhere warm and pretty to come home to each and every day! Dear Fridge: I am so thankful that you always have healthy, delicious food in you! (As long as i remember to buy it anyway) Dear Work: There are days I downright hate you but each and everyday you give me experience that challenge me and help me grow as a nurse. You give me the ability to meet others and help them in life changing situations. You give me the ability to make a difference. Dear Family: Though there have been struggles along the way we are always there for each other. Childhood was far less than easy but we made it out alright...as a family. Dear Husband: I've said it again and I'm sure I'll say it again but thank you. For your love. Your encouragement. Your kindness. Your support. Your drive. Your hard work. Your listening ears. Your warm cuddles. Your laughs & humor. Your caring heart. You mean the world to me, truly. You make me a better person each and everyday and I think I'll spend everyday wondering how I got so lucky. You are amazing. And I love you with all of my heart.
And Dear You: You are incredible. You are beautiful. You make a difference.
You are creative. You are charming. You are one of a kind.

This was really awesome. That just about sums it up! Loved this post! =)
