Let's Talk Babies

October 31, 2012

Ahh yes, the ever popular question for newlyweds
"When are you have a baby?" or "Are you pregnant yet?"

Quite possibly the most annoying, rude and personal questions and the two very questions I hate the most these days. EVERY one is asking like it's their darn business...and it's not.
If you ask me those questions are deeply personal whether the couple happens to be trying or not. Hubs and I have both been asked this multiple times on a weekly basis starting on day one of our marriage. Makes.Me.Sick.
People, please keep in mind we have been married for 46 days. 46!
We had decided before we married that we'd wait awhile to have kiddos. We want to travel and make sure we are 100% in the right place to be able to give our kids everything they want/need when they arrive. Could we support a child now? Sure we could. We've both got great paying, steady jobs. We've got a house. We're paying our bills every month and putting huge chunks of change in the bank on top of that. But we want to be 1,000% sure that we are ready and prepared financially to have children. Is that a crime?

I guess the number one reason it drives me so crazy is because I want children...bad. I've got baby fever like you wouldn't believe. Being a momma is one of the top two most important things to me {next to being a rockin' wife} But I'm also smart about it. I want to enjoy being married, being a new wife. I want to have fun with my husband without worrying about babysitters, diapers and bottles. I want to be a newlywed for awhile. On top of that, like I mentioned above it is a highly personal subject. What if we where trying but we where having problems? What if I was unable to have children? I think people need to stop and consider these things before questioning a couple.

I just wish people would be kind and considerate enough to leave personal subjects alone. I would NEVER dream of harping a newlywed about becoming pregnant.

And when we're pregnant? Trust me...y'all will hear me yelling it.
There will be adorable photo reveals and this blog will become very baby-fied.
Cause this girl will be darn excited and you better believe I won't be able to hide it from anybody for very long. Until then, I'm just going to enjoying being a newlywed and all the fun things being a newlywed brings ;)

End of rant.

Put On Your Prayin' Pants

Let's start off this post and day with sending some prayers to the East coast.
Watching the news, seeing the pictures...
my heart goes out to you all!
Sometimes it is so easy to take what we have for granted,
to forget all of the great things we have in life.
Seeing the power of this storm, the lives taken.
Hearing of the thousands without power, heat and water.
Seeing the homes destroyed, under feet of water.
People doing everything to hang on through the storm...
it's eye opening and is making me feel incredibly thankful for all that I have.
Be grateful, friends.
My thoughts and prayers are with the East Coast and all those affected by this dreadful storm. Stay safe loves!

And if you have some spare prayers could you send some this way?
My 83 year old spitfire grandma is in the hospital.
 She fell a few days ago {and never told anyone}
finally the pain became unbearable so she told my aunt and when brought to the hospital it was found that she had fractured her pelvic bones. There's not a whole lot they can do for this other than to keep her as still and immobile as possible and hope that she heals. She doesn't complain of a great deal of pain and definitely still has her sense of humor and firecracker ways which is great. She does however have Alzheimer's so keeping her in one spot and convincing her that staying the week in the hospital is best for her is proving to be a challenge. We also have some DENSE family dynamics on that side of our family so she {and we} and worried about what some said family members are going to make of this. My grandmother has been through SO much since loosing my grandfather in February 2011. We're just hoping for a decent recovery so we can get her back home. Fingers crossed.

And for a few smiles after a doom and gloom post:
My {terrified} little Yorkie/Pom Princess!

And Breanna from Sweet Silver Lining is now the proud
winner of a Starbucks gift card and two amazeball infinity scarves!
Congrats girl! Email Katie at withasmileblog@gmail.com

Saw It. Pinned It. Did It: Candy Corn Galore!

October 27, 2012

So Thursday was Stephanie and Katie's first
link up and sadly I missed it. Due to the fact that they are two
of my favorite bloggers I thought I'd join in the fun, late blogger style.
{Sorry ladies!}

So you all know {or should already know} that I'm a sugar addict.
I love sugar. Nearly anything with sugar. Those little corns and pumpkins made of pure sugar that make my husband want to puke?? LOVE EM.
I've made myself sick off of those do many times I've lost count. Any smart person would stop eating them but me? I just can't quit. To solve the problem I decided to craft with them...if they're all full of hot glue and stuck together I can't eat them. Problem solved! Plus, they make darn cute fall decor!
While I was creating those I also found the cutest replica made out of yarn...
so I made those too.

Here's my inspiration

And my final products :)
{Please excuse the less than stellar photos. These where taken a year or two ago before I gave a crap about pretty photos.}

Again, sorry for the crap-tastic photos.
I really should snap some better ones on of these days.
But, there you have it ladies.
Enjoy!

Honeymoon: Part Four

October 25, 2012

I've been meaning to finish up our honeymoon posts but keep finding other things to blog about...but really what's more exciting than honeymoon posts?
That's right, nothing.

We've already went through our first day, the gorgeous resort and fabulous food, and our day trip to see one of the seven wonders of the world, Chichen Itza.
Today I figured we could talk about some of my favorite parts of our honeymoon and I could share some random photos with you.

So, here they are...some of my favorite honeymoon moments.

Spending time with my new husband.
Soaking up the sun, sand and waves.

The beach. Simply beautiful.

Sunrises.
SO lovely!!

 Relaxation!
Love me some relaxation! Laying on the beach, sipping tasty drinks,
swinging in the bar and soaking up some rays.

 Sipping some delicious drinky, drinks.

So I Cross My Heart & I Hope To Die

October 24, 2012

That I'll only stay with you one more night
And I know I've said it a million times
But I'll only stay with you one more night
Yeah, baby give me one more night.

Fabulous song no?
One of my current jams for sure.
Know what else I'm loving lately?

This fireplace:
I am dying to have a fireplace in the house.
Mostly because I just like fireplaces and because
I want need a mantel to decorate. I firmly believe that every girl should have a mantel. Every girl. For real.

The barn wood floors in this house:
Freaking gorg! Seriously, I don't think any other wood floors compare! The detail and texture are amazing!

This adorable photo:
Oh adorable dear. Hubs caught me pinning photos like these the other day and said "I feel so bad for our children already! You are going to torment the crap outta them!" Stupid men. What do they know?

This adorable DIY:
Who would have thought that an old garage door/window could be turned into something so adorable with some shelves and hooks attached?

That in 324 days I'll be here:

I can NOT wait to spend our 1st anniversary sitting in the same sand as our honeymoon! We fell in love with this resort and can NOT wait to go back! We had thought about heading somewhere new but decided it would be special to make the trip back to where we spent our first week as a married couple. We'll branch out for anniversary numero dos :)

Weekend Happins'

October 22, 2012

Ahh Monday how I hate thee.
I seriously wonder where my weekends off go...
I'm here today with a little weekend recap. Excuse the quality of the photos but I was far more interested in relaxing than photo taking this weekend. I guess you could say this was my attitude {thank you Pinterest}
Friday night hubs and I headed out for a date night which was TOTALLY
what I needed after my day at work! Nearly 10 hours of bustin' ass.
 No breakfast+no lunch+not one bathroom break+heavy patients=bad day!
When I got home I was instructed to get ready and change because hubs was taking me out to eat at one of our favorite Italian restaurants.
We pigged out...mozzie sticks, vodka lemonades, bruschetta, calamari, vodka lemonades, garlic bread, vodka lemonades and three cheese baked mancotti.  After dinner I had a brilliant idea to hit up one of our favorite hangouts for a couple more drinks...which turned into quite the late night. Opps.

1. I'm sure this is the reason for my dreadful headache hangover
2. Three cheese baked mancotti=delicious!
3. My handsome date. I fully love my husband.
4. Checking out the new club in town.

 5. Watching nephew Ky's football game
6. Celebrating his 7th birthday at Chuck E. Cheese's
7. Two hour long nap=BEST thing ever!
8. Cuddles with my baby girl

9. Well good morning world! Love seeing this face in the morning!
10. Smore's bars! With BBQ ribs, Lemon Pepper Chicken, Steaks, Parmesan Potato Wedges, and Southern Style Beer Bread for lunch...
11. All while watching our team dominate! Go Pack Go!
12. More baby girl cuddles

Let's back up to numero six for a moment. Do you know what's the worst thing for a hangover? Chuck E. Cheese's...with 12 screaming children. Oh dear lord I've never had a headache so bad. Hubs and I spent the entire time sipping Sprite and eating Saltines trying to keep the nausea away for more than 10 minutes.
Friday was proof that we can NOT party like we used to.
And I vow to never drink again.

How Great Thou Art

October 21, 2012

Just a little something for you this Sunday morning.
I am not the biggest Carrie Underwood fan
{yes, I really just said that...sue me}
and this is not the greatest taping of her singing this song.
But, it brings chills to me every time I listen to it.
Home girl has some pipes. Vocal pipes that is.

Enjoy your Sunday babes!

Friday's Letters

October 19, 2012

Dear Weekend: I can NOT wait for you! An entire two days with the hubby is jjjuuuussttt what I need right now. It's been forever since we've both had a weekend off together & I am SO ready for it! We're spending it at one of our nephews football games and then his 7th birthday party! And Sunday I'll be spending some time with one of my besties who I haven't seen since our wedding. Dear Wisco: What's with all the rainy, dreary days? Sick of them already. I'm fully not ready to give up the nice warm summer weather. Dear Body: I'm not sure what's going on with you lately but we've got to get it back together mmkay? Being tired 24/7, and having back pain and migraines daily isn't on my fun list. Let's get back to feeling 23 {and not 89} again please?! Dear House: Clean yourself already. Dear Pinterest: I know I've been slacking on our relationship but I found these last night and I'm swooooning over them.

If this doesn't make the baby fever worse
I don't know what does.
And how adorable would this be for our first Christmas card
as a married couple? Who wants to snap a few photos for me?
Dear Hubby: I'm prepared to do whatever it takes to convince you to take photos like those above with me. No lie. Whatever it takes. I'm game. Dear Christmas: As much as I hate snow and cold I am amped to put up our four Christmas trees! I love the fall decor and the tasty cinnamon spice candles I have burning but peppermint candles sound just as yummy right now. Dear Hubby: You get two this week. And the second one is just to say: I love you. TONS.

Show & Tell: Me At 17

October 18, 2012

Here today with a little link up with Becky from Mrs. to Mama
We're going to take a little trip down memory lane...to 17 year old Stormy

 1. When you were 17, tell us what kind of car you drove, where you worked
and what you where usually up to on the weekends?

I drove the coolest car in the world. Like for real. It was a green Oldsmobile Alero. Leather interior, sunroof and a sound system. Like I said...coolest car ever.
I worked at Culver's as a shift leader at the time while training to be a manager.
Weekends usually consisted of working. It's when I could get in the most hours because I was in school during the week. I'd also hang out at home helping with my brother, who was two at the time. Other times...handing out with friends.

2. Show us a picture of you when you were 17 {roughly}.

3. When you were 17, tell us what you wanted to be when you "grew up"

A mom and wife. In all honestly. I have dreamed of being a wife and mom forever! Those two things are by FAR the most important goals and aspirations in the world to me! Above that? I wanted to be a teacher...until I found that it would be POINTLESS for me spend four years in school to never find a job. So, I ended up in nursing. And here we are.

4. When you were 17, tell us the kind of boys that you dated. Did you have a type? Do you have a relationship you remember as well? Tell us about it.
A type? Not so much. I dated the "bad boys." I dated the "god guys." I dated the "work friends." I dated the "I'm too sexy for my shirt guys." When I was 17 I was in a relationship with a guy that I'd been dating for over two years. At the time I was head over heels. Looking back? One of the biggest disappointments of my life. Too bad I couldn't have convinced the hubby that I was the once for him when I met him at age eight. Would have saved me from sooo many disappointments.

5. When you were 17, tell us where you pictured your life in 10 years from then. Did it turn out the way you expected it to?
Well, I'm not yet 27 so we'll have to wait and see if all my predictions come true ;) I've always had a plan for life though. Engaged by 22, married by 23 and first bambino by 25, second by 27. Where I came up with those numbers is beyond me but when I thought about life that's exactly how I pictured it turning out.
To recap? Engaged at 23 {one month after turning 23}. Married at 23. So far we're nearly right on track. I also knew that I wanted to go to college {check}, find a good job {check} and have a house {check} and money in the bank {check} by 25.
Guess there's only one more thing to accomplish before I hit 25 ;)
All in good time folks, all in good time.

Bucket List Check In

October 17, 2012

I'm here today with a check in on my bucket list.

While it was interesting and I gained a certification in Palliative/End of Life Care I want mmooorreee. Next up is ACLS in November. After that? I'm thinking of becoming Stroke and Chemo certified. And ones of these days I'll send in those applications to get my tush back in school ;) 2012

We're going to cross this one off after I had a
chance to meet the lovely Whitney at my bachelorette party
