Five On Friday

January 30, 2015

It's finally Friday! And I have no reason to celebrate as I'm stuck working this weekend. Poo! I am slightly surprised I made it out of this week alive though as Garrett has been up a few times each night again, packing is stressing me out and my house is post tornado status. No lie. I did however make it through, with all the hairs on my head and some empty Stress Away, Joy & Valor bottles. #deep breath

- One - Speaking of weekend. It's Superbowl weekend. I honestly just remembered that as I'm not a bit excited about it (plus, I'll be working). If my good ole' Green & Gold had made their way there you'd better believe I'd be all sorts of hyped up but it just wasn't in the cards for this year I guess. Here's hoping next year brings us better luck! I would love if one of you could sip about five of these for me:
Any takers? Any?

- Two - I'm craving spring hard these days. There have been little bits of sunshine peaking through and that makes me want to have the window open and hear the birds chirping! I'm very much looking forward to being in our new home this spring! The room to roam is so worth the hassle!

- Three - I'd shared HERE about the new oily adventure I've taken and let me tell you friends. It just keeps getting better & better! These oils are such a blessing to our family and have be an amazing addition to our lives! I seriously am questioning myself for not jumping on the oils train YEARS ago!! I have so much to share about them that I literally I could talk about them all day, everyday, but I'll spare you. But I do have to share this. Not only have they been a great help health wise they also have allowed us a small income as well. I joined Young Living on December 18th. I had NO intentions of ever working it as a business because let's face it, I'm a busy person already. It came as quite a surprise when I sold 2 kits on December 30th, just days after receiving mine. By January 10th I'd secured the "Star" level with Young Living and I'm proud to say that today, just a month after my first kits sale I've made it to Senior Star level!! Now, this is a small accomplishment and in no means does it mean I'm rich but I'm celebrating these small victories. Young Living is incredible and has been such a blessing. I am honored to be able to treat my family in a healthy, natural, side effect free way and to share it with friends and family!
- Four - I don't know that I've mentioned it but we'll have a mantel in our new house which has me pure giddy! I've dreamed of decorating a mantel for nearly forever and I'm super excited that I'm finally going to have the chance! You'd better believe that it will be decked for every holiday too! The first holiday we'll spend in our new home is St. Patrick's so I've been pinning decorating ideas like mad! Never mind the fact that St. Pat's falls just over two weeks after we move in so there will likely be boxes piled everywhere still...BUT the mantel will be decorated! Here are some Pinterest finds that I'm loving!
 - Five - I have something SUPER, duper awesome coming for you ladies next week! I'm telling you that you REALLY aren't going to want to miss this one! Here's a little sneak peak...
Yeah, like I said. You don't want to miss this one! Keep your eyes PEELED!

Happy weekend folks! Party it up!

Tears

January 29, 2015

First off. I have to give a big ole thanks to y'all. My mind was blown with all of the sweet words and congrats on our latest big news! We have received so much love surrounding this big change that it seriously made me cry!

Speaking of crying...it doesn't take much these days. I am one big basket case! Which doesn't surprise me because I mush into an emotional wreck pretty much every time something big happens in life. Go figure... So this whole packing our lives up and leaving our first home thing has got me slightly beside myself. It is after all, the house we got engaged in, the first home we lived together in, the house we first brought Garrett home too and the house that we literally tore apart board by board and rebuilt. This house has remnants of our blood, sweat & tears worked right into it...literally. It's bittersweet to think that in just under a month it will be someone else's home. Others will be making precious memories here.

Another recent event that had me bawling like a baby are these photos. Let me explain them just a bit...Whitney is a dear friend. While I don't see nearly enough of her she is such a sweetheart and has captured so many incredible memories for us through the lens of her camera. Her husband had been gone for the past 500+ days serving our country over seas. He returned last weekend, back to the arms of his loving wife and was finally able to meet his (their) son who was born while he was deployed. Let me tell you, stories like that melt me instantly but the photos captured of his return have made me bawl huge happy tears about 30 times now. I can't stop looking at them and thinking how incredibly proud of the three of them that I am. I don't think giving birth, raising a child for nearly 11 months and being a (temporary) single mom is something that any woman dreams of but Whitney took it in stride and made the most of each moment! And now they're together, happy & safe as a little family of 3!

In other news, I now know about 40 people having babies and that is NOT even an exaggeration! 2015 must be the year of babies! It seems like everyday I log into FB/Twitter/Insta and there is at least four more people announcing! Insane! We've gotten many questions about when the M family will be expanding and here's your answer:

I'm not sure.

Do I have a ragging case of baby fever? You betcha! But it varies from day to day. Don't get me wrong, I will love baby M2.0 so much when he/she comes along but I'm just not sure if now is the time. Garrett keeps me on my toes and part of me wonders how in the heck I'd ever keep up with two kids as some days I have my hands full just attempting to keep up with him!

Our (Long Awaited) Big News!

January 27, 2015

So I know that I've been a bit absent and vague lately here on the blog and truth be told there's a BIG ole reason for that...

Curious?? So here's the story. After all of our home searching this past fall and loosing a few homes that we really loved we where slightly discouraged, worried and concerned that we where never going to find the "right" home for us. We'd had our searches narrowed so down that we'd literally looked at every home that somewhat fit our needs and wants on the internet. I mentioned to my husband a few times the possibility of yanking our house from the market and trying again later. I was just done with the searching, done with cleaning for no one to show up to open houses & just done with it all.

There was a house in our searched area but it was priced high, not exactly what we wanted and the pictures just didn't catch my attention. I jokingly said "Let's just buy that one!" as it had been listed for months and months without any interest. Husband took me a little literally and set up a showing. I knew from the minute I stepped on the property that despite my hating every ounce of it prior to arriving that it was our house, it had to be our house! It's in the country, has two acres and I've never seen Garrett so happy! He was just running and running around the yard thrilled with all the space! We toured the house then and while it's incredibly not my style my mind just started whirling with ideas...wide planked espresso wood floors, white cabinets, dark granite, a decorated mantel...

Sign.Me.Up!

We threw in an offer back in September. It was a high offer, higher than we wanted but we just wanted it to be a done deal. They accepted within a few days and we went into contract, dependent upon the sale of our current home.

Therein was the tough part. Despite having redone our home nearly 100% and having a fair amount of interest on it we weren't having any luck getting people to the offer table. It was frustrating. We had a handful of couples (first time home buyers) that LOVED our house but they all where a bit hesitant to write an offer. Months and months passed. We held opens when no one would show up. I spent countless days attempting to care for my clingy toddler while cleaning for private showings.

About weeks ago we had another couple come see the house. They fell in love with it and said loads of promising things. Leaving with promising to get to the bank soon. My husband and I nearly jumped for joy but there was a bit of hesitancy in our minds as well as we'd heard all of those things time and time again. Much to our surprise they visited the bank the very next day and we had an offer just one day after that! Talk about being excited! Aside from my wedding day & Garrett being born that day chalks right up there with one of the best!

Fast forward through negotiations, meetings with our loan officer, meetings with our realtor, home inspections, radon tests and all that other fun stuff to our big news (if you haven't guessed it already!!)...

The M family is moving!

We're pretty amped as well as super overwhelmed. The whole packing everything I own thing is pretty much exhausting on top of working full time, being a mom & wife and running TWO businesses! Let me tell you something...these next 31 days are going to be packed with strong cappis, Oasis & smothering myself with oils to relieve stress!

I (of course) won't leave you without a little sneak peak of our new home. Don't mind the barfed kidney bean color, that is soon to go!

A Little Christmas Nursery

January 22, 2015

Alright, so I'm very aware that it's far past Christmas but in all honesty I was a slacker round these parts and I just have so many Christmas inspired things that I still want to share. Can't blame a girl for that can ya?

While I didn't put up nearly the amount of trees this year as I usually do I went a little crazy in a few particular rooms. The living room (obviously) was puked full of Christmas décor. My second victim? Garrett's room. I don't know why I felt the need to deck those halls but I did, and I loved every minute of it! So today I thought I'd share a few photos of his Christmas nursery with y'all.
I do have to tell you a little story about this lamp and box. I'd snatched up this little red lantern awhile back while thrifting with Whitney. I wasn't sure what I would do with it but I saw it and knew that I had to have it. It got stuck in the back of a closet for awhile. I pulled it out when I redid Garrett's nursery thinking it would be a lovely touch of red. I'd had it sitting on his dresser and it just wasn't what I'd pictured. It had to be set on something I thought. I grabbed this wooden box, handmade by my late grandfather. My parents had gifted it to me a couple Christmases ago after he'd passed. That beat up red lantern atop that precious handmade box is now my favorite thing in Garrett's nursery. I love knowing that while Garrett never met my grandfather there's a piece of him so close.

And there ya have it. While not out of the pages of Martha Stewert I was pretty excited with the way it turned out. Garrett was obsessed with the lights on the tree next to his crib and trying to yank the ornaments off so I guess that's all that really matters in the end right?!?

Sunshine Snow Days & Tummy Rumbles

January 21, 2015

Hump day! Already! Whoa! I'm telling you folks the days are just FLYING by here in our world! It's a bit crazy to think that we're nearly into February already! I swear that each year flies by a little faster and a littler faster! It boggles my mind!

The past few weeks have been crammed packed for us. Crammed with nervousness, anxiety, excitement and worry. So, so much worry. I plan on sharing the cause of all of this emotions just as soon as I know it's a 100% done deal sorta thing ;) Let me tell you though, this is something we've been working our tails off towards and have wanted for so long. To see it finally just out of reach is incredible but frightening at the same time!

And now, with your minds all spinning and wondering I'll leave you with that incredibly vague paragraph and we'll switch topics ;)

We've had some nicer days here lately allowing us to spend much time outside soaking up the little rays of sunshine while we stomp through the snow. Garrett doesn't seem to care too much about the snow, he's much more into the running after our pup or stomping in puddles. He gets a bit frustrated when he trips and falls into the snow and usually picks himself up and has this bewildered look on his face when he sees his gloves covered in snow. Pair that with the fact that he looks like a giant puff ball in all his snow gear and it's just a site that melts me. I am so blessed to be his momma.
I refuse, refuse to talk about how crappy my Green & Gold played this past weekend. I'm still heart broken about the game but we all must go on. I was sure we wouldn't win the game but when we came so close and lost it all in that final four minutes my heart was shattered. Better luck next year I suppose. I'd had oral surgery on Friday so a delicious mixed drink was out of the question for this girl. Instead I sipped lemon water and sobbed my poor chip monk cheeks soaked as we watched them suck it up.
Speaking of oral surgery...can I just say how crappy it is?! One of my wisdom teeth had finally poked it's way through and then ended up fractured just a few days later. It was fairly painful and I called to get in. They couldn't get me in for a week so I limped my way though the week (there's just NOTHING worse than tooth pain!) and headed in last Friday. It took the surgeon 45 minutes to remove that one stinking tooth and he admitted it was one of the worst he's ever taken out. Oh joy! Needless to say I've got some (not so) lovely bruising and fair amount of pain still, five days later. It's been so difficult to talk as my jaws are so stiff making the whole being a nurse thing for 13 hours a day a challenge. Do you know how hard it is to explain really important stuff when you're slurring your words and have a lisp?! Yeah, not cool. I'm feeling better today and can actually get a regular sized spoon in my mouth to eat. (Garrett and I had been sharing baby spoons for the past few days! Ha!) I'm dying for actual food though! Applesauce, Jello, pudding, oatmeal and soft mush is only fun for about 12 minutes. What I wouldn't give for a BBQ chicken sandwich with bacon & cheddar cheese!

Garrett: 16 Months

January 13, 2015

Whoa bessy! Where is the time going?! I can't even believe the fact that it's January 13th already! It seems like time just keeps speeding up and speeding up. It all I can do to hang onto it's coat tails.

I'm horribly late on Garrett's update...again. But it's here now. Better late than never is what they say right? We did attempt our monthly couch pictures but this month they simple weren't happening. Most ended up a lot like this:
16 Months As Of 12.27.14

Stats & Recent Appointment: At his 15 month appointment he tipped the scale at 28lbs 14ozs (98%). He measured 33inches long (95%) and his head measured 48.7cm (92%). Everyone jokes that he's half my height and well, I'm beginning to think that's it's true. He's thinned out and it seems he will be a very tall boy. The men on my dad's side of the family are very tall and skinny so I'm beginning to think he'll be over 6 feet tall with size 15 feet like some of my cousins.

Features: Brown eyes, brown hair. Hunk of handsome.

Teeth: A grand total of 8! His left cuspid made it's arrival on December 2nd and the right on December 22nd. And let me tell you, those coming through gave us the biggest run for our money thus far. I hear that molars are also tough ones so we're not rushing the whole more teeth thing here in the M household.

Sleep:
While we still have sporadic nights of horrible sleep for the most part he's been doing good. He seems to do best with a cup of milk about 7pm, jammies & quite time. We rock around 7:40pm or so and he's asleep shortly after that. If we're any later with our routine it takes him until around 9pm to fall asleep because he hits that over tired mark. He's been consistent in sleeping until about 7am lately, except the days I work, then I wake him up at 5:20am. Naps are a hit or a miss. Everyday is different. Some days he'll take two naps each two hours in length. Yesterday he took a 15 minute nap in the morning an an hour nap around noon. I think part of the problem is that he gets in a good routine being home with me for a few days and then it's goofed up the days I work. Oh well, we make it through.

Eating: He's been a bit picker lately. He's nearly mastered the art of the fork and spoon and loves to eat with them. As of late he'll actually beg to use "big people" silverware making me so nervous he's going to poke his eye out. He pretty much refuses veggies these days but continues to love his meat. It amazes me that he'll gobble down turkey meatballs, turkey dogs, chicken sausage, chicken fries and fish but turns his nose up at some fruits & veggies.

Diapering: Size five.

Clothing: Pants 18m-24m. Onesies 24m-2T. T-shirts are mainly 18m-2T. Pajamas are anywhere from 18m-2T. Shoes are sizes 8 & 9. His 18m pile is getting smaller and smaller as he starts to outgrow them. I actually dug a tote of 3T clothes out last week or so as a joke and was shocked when I ended up washing 1/3 of the tote because it fits him now! Holy smokes!

Social: Still so, so social! He loves to people watch. Loud crowds and animals seem to scare him so we'll have to focus on being around different people more often.

Nicknames: Gert, Gertie, Scooter, Little Man, Goober, Little Love, Chunk

Likes: Music is a favorite for sure! He loves anything with a little bit of a beat that he can dance too. Running! He runs in the house, he runs outside, he runs at the stores. He is impossible to get to sit still! Climbing is his newest thing and while he can't quite get up on the couch yet he certainly tries! Pulling everything off the tree! There's like no ornaments on the bottom two feet of our trees as he just rips everyone of them off.

Dislikes: Getting into his car seat, having his hair rinsed/dried, waiting for food & being over tired (momma hates that too!).

Five On Friday

January 9, 2015

- One - It feels like Christmas was just yesterday and here we are at the 9th of January already! Craziness! I can't say as I'd argue with it though as I'm in a hurry to rid the grounds, walkways & roads of that nasty white stuff. Yesterday it came down pretty consistently most of the day. I've yet to shovel a scoop full of it though, thanks to my awesome husband. I am also craving the days when I can bring Garrett outside without 50 extra pounds of clothes on!

- Two - My latest oil obsession? I'd stumbled upon an article that recommended putting one drop of Lavender Essential Oil in your mascara. It advised that it would promote healthier, longer and fuller lashes. It also mentioned that it would help to extend the shelf life of my mascara. In typical curious fashion I had to try it out. About two weeks ago {right after receiving my kit} I added a single drop of Lavender oil to my mascara. Now, I have to tell you I usually only wear mascara when I'm headed to work or headed out so on average it's about 4 times a week. After a week {or four applications} I was already noticing a difference! My eye lashes used to be short little nubs that basically stuck straight out. Now they are about 2-3 times the length they used to be and actually have a curl to them! I am amazed! The easiest, most inexpensive way to get long, full lashes!
- Three - We're in the middle of a giant ole' Influenza epidemic here in Wisconsin. Ick. I run around in full gowns, gloves, masks & sometimes eye shields at work because you better believe I'm avoiding that one! Lately over half of our {19 bed} unit is in with Influenza! My poor diffuser is busy pumping our air full of Thieves & Purification all day long! Gotta keep the family healthy!

- Four - I whipped this up last night for dinner. I'm constantly on the hunt for new recipes and stumbled upon this one on Pinterest. Roasted potatoes, apples & chicken sausage in a maple mustard glaze. It was pretty good and one that Steve wolfed right down. Garrett even nibbled down a bit picking out the chicken sausage first...what a champ!
- Five - There's been some new developments in the house selling, buying situation. I'd love to fill you in on them but I'm waiting for paperwork to make it all "official". It's not exactly what we had in mind those many months ago when we listed our house but I think that it's going to work out in the end! Here's hoping {with our fingers crossed tight} that we'll be swimming in our pool {when it warms up of course}, sipping drinks at our bar, watching movies in our theater, swinging on the swings in the willow tree & running like crazy in our big ole' backyard soon!

Shop Spotlight: Lively Happenings

January 8, 2015

I've taken a couple months off from Shop Spotlights to give y'all a break. And mostly because I needed a break too. Am I greedy or what? I'd actually considered doing away with the features as (as much as I love doing them) they can quite the time suckers! I'll be changing up a little bit about the way that I do them...running less of them to offer more exclusiveness to the shops and so not to bomard y'all with sponsored stuff...though really...who doesn't want the chance to win free stuff every week?

But we're back this week with a superb shop. I'm so glad that Lively Happenings is first on my list for Shop Spotlights for 2015! There couldn't be a better way to start off this new year! Without further ado...
What Lively Happenings Is Known For || Lively Happenings is ran by Tamara. She is a wife, a Dave Ramsey nut, and on top of working full time in IT runs Lively Happenings. Lively Happenings is packed to the brim with creative, unique and slightly eclectic jewelry.

What Sets Lively Happenings Apart? || I'd say the style of Tamara's jewelry really sets her apart from other shops. Looking through the photos in her shop I can just feel the passion she has for creating. They are created from hand stamped metals, hand dyed silks and all around gorgeous materials.

My Favorite Products || I had a hard time picking one single item to review but finally settled on the most lovely bracelet, stamped with "Strength, Sweat, Inspire". I picked for it to be paired with the silk stands dyed in Sea Glass. Let me tell you something, I have never seen a more lovely set of colors! The minty teal is just beautiful.
I also fell in love with her crystal and pearl druzy earrings (perfect for an elegant bride!). They are beyond gorgeous and just scream classic elegance to me! I feel like I should have another wedding (to the same guy of course) just so I can wear them! I am so in love with her line of interchangeable headbands, how genius it that anyhow?! I love the idea of being able to create many different headbands by switching the bows from band to band! The teal bow and flower set is one that every little girl should have, for sure! 3 headbands and three different bows offers you 12 different ways to wear them! And you can't possibly tell me that you don't want this crystal and rose gold necklace. I bet you wouldn't have guessed that the leaf in the necklace is a real, actual leaf! That's right! Tamara covers the leaf with a coppery rose gold that preserves it to be worn around your neck!
Quality + Craftsmanship || The products from Lively Happenings are so well crafted, unique and lovely. I love that so many of them are items that you wouldn't find elsewhere. Tamara is a lovely person through and through and I love her creative mind!

Value + Recommendation l l Now, now. Would I bring you a shop that I wasn't madly in love with? Of course not! Lively Happenings is another shop that I'd love to buy just about everything from

Giveaway ||Lively Happenings is graciously giving away a hand stamped bracelet! The winner will get to pick from any hand stamped silk strand bracelet in her shop or can have one made with a custom quote! Good luck!

A New {Oil-y} Adventure

January 5, 2015

So, before you figured out what this post is about and go running for the hills just hear my out...errr...rather read my words. I know that there are plenty of people that are going to read this, roll there eyes and think to themselves "Uhh, I'm so sick of hearing about those dang oils!"

I get you. I totally, 100% get you. In fact, not too long ago I was one of those people. I read into essential oils about a year ago and rolled my eyes as well. People seriously paid {good} money for a small glass bottle of liquid that they rubbed, drank and squirted into the air? And you mean to tell me that oily liquid may"eliminate" things?! Hhhmm, yeah okay.

Being a nurse and going through nursing school I'd been programmed to believe that for everything "there's a pill for that". I've been a nurse now for three years. I spend much of my time handing out various medications to people. A pill for this, a pill for that and three more pills to combat the side effects of the previous two pills. At first I didn't think much of it. The doctor recommended it so it must be right and okay for the patient right? I was in the "Doctors are God" phase of my nursing career and probably would have hopped up and down on my head if one of them told me to. I was young. I was new. And I certainly wasn't right in my thinking.

Fast forward three years to each work day when I'm passing out a cup full...A CUP FULL of pills to each of my patients. Now granted many are vitamins but so many are not. I literally am not surprised one bit when my fairly healthy, mid 50 year old patients come in with a list of 30 medications that they take daily. For every little thing wrong people are prescribed a new medication. Is it right? The new nurse in me would have said yes three years ago but I've changed a great deal since then, I've learned a great deal since then. I don't ever what to be a person that relies on a cup full of medications to keep me alive and functioning. To keep my body well and doing the things I wish for it to do. I just don't want to be one of those people. I'm not interested in that life style.

And to make this huge, long story short we'll zoom forward a bit. A few weeks ago I ran into one of the Chaplin's at work, Jessica. We're friends on Facebook and she'd posted a recipe she'd made for hand sanitizer out of essential oils. It eliminates germs to the same degree as alcohol based but actually moisturizes your hand and smells great. I asked her if I could try a bottle because my hands resemble that of an eighty year old's who spent his life farming. They are dried out, cracked and at times bleeding. After seeing her post {and asking for a tester bottle} I started looking into essential oils once again. Being very into pure, natural, organic living these days I was intrigued at that aspect of it all. I was shocked when I stumbled upon this graphic and all of the things that essential oils could aid in.
A little thought trickled into my mind..."What if I could rid of cabinets of medications and use oils to benefit my family?" Would it work? Would it be worth it? Was I suddenly turning into a hippie? {Let's face it...a hippie named Stormy is just too perfect. Am I right?}

I wasn't sure I could do it. And I wasn't sure it would be worth it. But I felt this overwhelming urge that oils where the answer. That this was the path in which I was supposed to go, in which my family was supposed to go. I'm not the most religious person but it felt like someone from above was giving me a big ole' shove right into the middle of the oily world. So, with a pocket full of Christmas cash I purchased my first kit, The Premium Starter Kit. I about crapped myself when I clicked checkout. A diffuser, 11 tiny bottles, samples and some literature cost me $150?! {$172 with tax & shipping to be exact} What in the world was I thinking?!?

And so I waited. And waited. I spent HOURS researching oils online while I waited for my kit to arrive. I grew more and more excited. And more and more confident that this was it, this was the most perfect blessing for my family. Something was telling me deep down in my heart that these little bottles where going to change my life. And in the first week? Boy have they ever! My kit came and I tore it open. I'd woke up with a migraine that day and was anxious to try the Peppermint oil and see if it offered relief.

**Short story here** I've suffered with migraines for the better part of eight years. I've tried diet adjustments, I've tried medications and sadly nothing worked. I've been referred to Neurologists, Cardiologists the whole 9-yards. To say I was sick of migraines was an understatement. When I'd read that certain oils may be effective in relieving migraines I knew that would be the ultimate test for me. If the universe wanted me to believe that there was something to this oily stuff ridding me of a migraine was the first step.**

I opened the Peppermint, dropped a drop on my finger and rubbed in on both my temples and the back of my neck. It burned {I've since learned that dilution is key} but within 15 minutes my migraine was gone. GONE! I figured it was in my head. How could one little drop of liquid do in fifteen minutes what I'd been trying for eight years to do? I was astounded! Luckily, my husband had woken with a stiff neck that morning too. I knew this would be the perfect second test. A little peppermint to the back of his neck and 20 minutes later he was rolling his neck every which way, not an ache in the world. Holy cows?! This stuff really worked!

My third test came the next day. For those of you who know me or have read around these parts for awhile you know that my son, Garrett is no lover of sleep. In fact he didn't sleep through the night until he was 11 months old. And even then he was up every once and awhile. He's a goober to get down for naps and getting him to sleep always left me fed up and ready for a nap myself. I'd read {while not so patiently awaiting my kit} that by diluting 1 drop of Lavender to 1 teaspoon of a carrier oil and rubbing in on their feet it can aid in sleeping. So, that afternoon I rocked with Garrett for one hour. After that hour I was ready to pull my hair out and he was bouncing off the walls as energetic as ever. Ugh. I grabbed some coconut oil & my Lavender. One drop, one tablespoon {I was leery and started super diluted with him}, rubbed it on his two toddler feet & covered with a sock. We sat down in his rocker with him fully awake....

Three minutes brought constant yawns.
Five minutes brought rolling eyeballs.
Eight minutes and he was out. I'm talking head flopped, rag doll out.

I laid him down and he napped for two hours, TWO hours!! I knew right there and then that I held some pretty great stuff in my hands. Since then these oils haven't failed to amaze me. They relieved oncoming cold in one dose, continue to aid Garrett in sleeping, have been working wonders on my daily headaches/migraines. They have been such a blessing and wonderful addition to our family! I just can't wait to see where this oily adventure takes us!
If you have any questions in regards to the oils and/or our experiences please, please let me know! I fully believe that everyone deserves to know and experience their greatness! And I'd love to share them with you!

Also, please note that I am not a doctor. I am also by no means promising that these oils would help eliminate any potential problems that you may have. I am simply sharing my love for something that has greatly impacted my family in such a short amount of time. Something that has improved our day to day living.

Tearing Off The Wrapping Paper

January 3, 2015

There was very few gifts I opened by myself this year. Garrett was a pro at tearing off that wrapping paper and it was just darling! Sometimes he needed major convincing and other times he just couldn't wait to tear it off! Regardless, he got loads of practice in this year!

Christmas Eve we headed out to my in-laws for a little get together. Garrett had such fun playing with his three cousins and opening gifts! I snacked on way too many things that I shouldn't have but didn't regret one single ounce of it.
After that we headed to my parents. We visited and opened gifts and did some more snacking. I always love spending the evening of Christmas Eve with them. Growing up it was our main celebration as on Christmas morning we'd open gifts and then head to my grandparents house right away. Christmas Eve was more mellow and I'm glad I can still join them in that nearly every year!
Christmas day started bright and early as Garrett isn't a late sleeper. We opened Santa gifts and exchanged gifts to each other as we hadn't gotten a chance to do that yet. Garrett got some toys and a load of books. I gifted Steve with a subscription to Dollar Shave Club, a Mason Jar Shaker (for the bar in our new house), a Duel Breakfast Sandwich Maker, some Advocare gear, an organizer for his night stand and a few other small things. He got me tons of gear for my camera (including TWO new lens), a margarita making kit and a new coffee mug. It was a wonderful morning. I whipped up some Christmas-y pancakes and we relaxed the day away. I had to go into work for awhile that afternoon which was surprisingly mellow...it helped that there where plenty of treats around!
The weekend after we had our good friends (Nick, Jenny & Ben) over and we exchanged gifts with them. We also headed to my sister's to see her tree and exchange gifts with her & her fiance.
It was a busy few days full of wonderful moments!
