Five Year Date-Aversary!

June 28, 2013

It's crazy to think back five years ago to June 28, 2008. Steve and I had just started hanging out and where spending the night at a local country music festival, Country USA. We packed up his truck with a portable grill, food and drinks and headed up there. Nothing like tailgating, county music and tons of rowdy people for one of your first dates!
The past five years have been filled with laughs, good times, love and even some sad times. And when I think about it all I know I wouldn't want another man standing beside me to go through it all.

Steve has been my rock through some of the hardest times and my partner in crime though some of the best times:

...loosing my best friend, uncle and grandpa

...all the craziness of nursing school, studying for boards and taking NCLEX

...countless weddings...in which it can sometime be difficult to get him to take a decent photo with me

...various other birthday parties, nights out on the town, and days spent visiting family

And we've stuck together though it all. Growing, learning and changing together. We've been married for 9.5 months already! We enjoyed a wonderful honeymoon! And we're expecting our first child!

It is amazing the things we've been though in the last five years and I'm so, SO excited to see where the years ahead bring us!

Babe, I love you with all of my heart. You have made me the luckiest, most incredibly blessed woman in the world. I am forever thankful to have you standing beside me on this crazy journey called life! Thank you for your support, your shoulder to cry on, your laughter and most of all your love. I am blessed to be your wife and mother to your child. Thank you and love forever, Me.

A Little Bump Review

June 27, 2013

The fact that we have less than 60 days of this pregnancy left is exciting but yet oh so scary too! I mean honestly...in less than 60 days I'm expected to care for another life. A tiny, adorable, innocent life. Ekks. I was looking back at my bump photos the other day and tears came to my eyes for a couple different reasons:

1: I have dreamed about being a mommy forever it seems! I always knew growing up that I wanted a career and wanted to make something of myself but above all I wanted to be a wife and mommy. Seeing this belly grow, feeling this life inside me is far more wonderful than I ever thought it could be. Talking about baby, making plans for baby...it's all so surreal & has me feeling beyond blessed!

2: Picturing my husband holding our precious child is just too much for me to take in. The fact that we've created something so innocent, perfect and wonderful together is amazing and terribly heartwarming. I've never left it a secret that I'm crazy school girl in love with my husband and knowing that I've been a part in creating another little piece of him leaves me in awe.

3. My thighs! Will they ever look like they used to? I swear I've gained more in my thighs and tush than I have in my belly. And don't even try to argue with me that "they look the same as they used to" I know and feel the difference. And let me tell you...cottage cheese thighs...NOT a fan! Here's to getting back to looking like week 10 like as soon as possible post delivery! Oh, I wouldn't mind my abs back either mmkay?!?

Today I Wish...

June 26, 2013

Hump day at last! The week is half over and I just have to make it through today and tomorrow & I get myself a three day weekend! Amazeballs, especially after the hellish week I've had at work! Today I'm wishing for a few things that I thought I'd share with you.

I wish I was laying here:

Wearing this:

All tanned up like this:

 Sipping this:

 Snacking on this:

Listening to this:

Oh, if only.
 & Sigh.

Our Baby Shower

I've said it before and I'm sure I'll say it a million times over again but I am an incredibly blessed women. Our baby shower was another time that proved just that. I've always been the type of person that loves being surrounded by family and friends. There is something about having all of your loved ones in one place at one time that soothes my soul. So knowing my family and friends would be at my shower had me beyond overjoyed.

My sister and bestie, Amber planned my shower and I knew nothing about it which was perfectly alright with me! I'm a difficult person to surprise and I'm beyond Type A so I'd figured that keeping my nose out would be difficult but I actually loved the element of surprise!

I'm not much for "themed" stuff especially when it comes to babies! I'm not into zoo themes or butterfly themes. Therefore the girls simply went with simple decor. Colored table runners, a few rubber ducks and balloons. Simple and adorable!

I could type and type about the details but they always say pictures are worth a thousand words...so we'll let the pictures do the talking.

That's just a taste of the photos I have from that day but I don't want to spoil you and give them all to you in one day :)
