Weekend Happins

November 12, 2012

Morning loves
This weekend was a working weekend for me so there wasn't a whole lotta fun stuff happing. Here's a little recap:

Friday started out with dinner and drinks at our favorite establishment.
We walked in to our drinks sitting on the table waiting for us...
is that a sign that we spend too much time there?

In usual style for this girl Friday ended like this:
 That's right people...in bed at 8:26pm.
We're not old at all are we?
Saturday and Sunday nights looked a whole lot like the above too .

Saturday was a super day at work.
Our unit was full but we discharged lots of patients leaving us
at low census. Holla!
Sunday morning comes though and we're right back to being full to the brim.
Funny how that goes in healthcare. We empty out and fill right back up.

In more exciting news this is what Wisco looked like this weekend:

And it's now Monday & I've got the day off. Whoot!
I've got a  class for work this week and then the hubs and
I are headed on a little weekend getaway next weekend.
Some time away with him will be wonderful!

Friday's Letters

November 9, 2012

Dear Today: This is the first Friday I've had off in FOREVER! And I've got nada on the agenda. While other than running to the post office. Love me a lazy Friday. Dear Christmas Decor: I am beyond ready to dig you out and start decorating! I mean honestly putting up four trees takes some time so maybe it'd be best if I started now. Dear Body: Sugar is about to be pulled from your system! That's right the M household is making changes and we're going sugar free (or as sugar free as possible). Our friends think it's hilarious when we tell them that but we're going to give it a valid shot. Dear Last Night's Dinner: Holy yum! It's been forever since I've made beef stew but got the itch to yesterday and it turned out fabulous! Dear Froyo Cherry: You've been popped. Whoot! We went with a couple of friends last night and tried froyo for the first time. Hubs was certain he was going to hate it but ended up eating nearly the whole bowl. Leaving about four small spoonfuls for me. Needless to say, now he has to take me on a froyo date again Dear Target: Your clearance got me good yesterday! I swear half the store was on clearance and y'all know how much I enjoy my Target deals! Dear Election: I am BEYOND grateful that you are over! I was SO sick of the ads, phone calls and mailers stuff in my mail box! Dear New Followers: Thanks for following along! It's good to see some new faces! I see a few of you appeared after the Smore's Brownie post yesterday. Maybe posting pictures of delicious desserts is the most effective way to new followers??  Dear Family: I love you and am deeply thankful for you! I can't wait to see you all on Thanksgiving (which is also my birthday!). It will be nice to spend a mellow day with family.

Saw It. Pinned It. Did It: Smore Brownies

November 8, 2012

Today instead of a craft for the Saw It. Pinned It. Did It.
link up with Steph and Katie I've got a recipe for you. A darn easy and super tasty one!

Smore's Brownies

Inspiration:
 via

 Creation:

Ingredients:

1 box fudge brownie mix
Water, oil, and eggs called for on brownie box
2 cups mini marshmallows
4 graham cracker sheets, broken into pieces
2 milk chocolate candy bars, broken into pieces
Follow These Steps:
  1. Prepare brownie mix according to package instructions.
  2. Remove brownies from oven, and turn oven to broil.
  3. Scatter marshmallows and graham cracker pieces evenly over the top of the brownies, and return to oven.
  4. Broil 30 seconds to 1 minute or until the marshmallows become golden in color, watching carefully to prevent the graham cracker pieces from burning.
  5. Remove brownies from oven, and immediately scatter chocolate candy pieces evenly over top of warm brownies.
If you're anything like me you're 2 cups of marshmallows will be 3 cups.
The 2 Hersey bars will become 4 {or maybe even 5}
and the 4 graham crackers will be 6.
What can I say? I like my smore's brownies to have a whole lotta smore's :)

Enjoy ladies! And as always thanks to Steph and Katie for hosting!
